You can't buy that phone anywhere for that price sim free so why is it not an obvious error?
I agree with this.nyermen said:
The gap is the £125 upfront, not an obvious error on a 2 year deal that totals £768 in payments.
OP what does the website say about when a contract is formed/acceptance takes place?
VeryAppleiPhone 12, 128Gb - Black

I know nothing about the price of phones, as an average consumer I don't think 14% of the price missing is obvious.bris said:

3 could well be on the tail end of a bulk discount quantity rebate from Apple which makes it worth letting the airtime go at cost or even a loss
ie they might be in line get £100s back as a rebate for selling 10000 iphone 12 in the quarter but have only sold 9999 and it is the last day ...

A clear and obvious error would be an iPhone 12 for £75
This really isn't so obvious - fantastic bargains do happen and this isn't beyond the realms of possibility with or without the £125.
I think if I was the OP, I'd make a stand. As it was published on MSE you could try tweeting Martin, unlikely to get very far but you never know0 -
