Just about to come off my Ebico Zero Tariff  with British Gas (long story).
I've had my head in the sand not wanting to think about it apart from doing the odd comparison searches and getting despondent at the monthly and standing charges and exit fees... :(

Any advice for a flat dwelling very low user (G 1700 / E 900 KWh /annum) looking to switch both E & G not necessarily to same company. Have looked at Zog, So Energy, Daligas and Octopus.

I fear I've left it too late with the likely price increase this autumn

I remember Ebico having a minimum usage policy charge, but haven't spotted it elsewhere yet.

Thanks

Just enter those figures into a few comparison sites, starting with Citizens Advice and 'Which? Switch'.  Compare annual costs not monthly DDs and ignore all projections and savings claims.
It's really that simple, forget standing charges, it's the total annual cost that counts.
You've missed out on some good deals (such as my recent switch of electricity to Symbio at 12.977p/kWh and daily charge of 10p), but today's deals are probably far better than they will be in a few weeks' time.

Do have a look at the end of this thread:
... and check out the British Gas 'Zero Fixed Oct 2022' tariff... see if that might work for you...

Thanks for the really useful advice - some homework for me.
To the person who messaged me just to get me to use referral links - I don't think that is in the spirit if MSE.😡

This is even cheaper than my current Zero. They only offered me a standard variable tariff or much more expensive one with a hefty standing charge. I know I should do the work, but find it dispiriting that they mislead you.

Did you go with British Gas as the cheapest with no standing charge?

Apologies for the late reply, Buster-Danog.

Yes, I did sign up for FZ October 2022. However, I found the dealing with BG like trying to stick a pin in my eye. First the chat bods tried to suggest tariffs that were not in my interest, or they didn't want to chat! So I decided to 'phone (and record the conversation after the chat experience). It seemed to take a long time to sort out as they kept saying the tariff was not on the in-house list. Then they cocked-up and only changed the gas tariff, so after online and social media complaints it has been finally sorted.
