Not as advertised

Thank you all for your comments.
I suppose my point is...does this count as false advertising...yes its only a zip! But on a designer handbag it makes all the difference...
Basically the one sold directly from the official website was metal...the other cheaper version you can get on ebay/amazon all day long.
The metal zip finishes it off better.
It's a snob thing 🙈 x

If you believe its false advertising then you contact The Advertising Standards Authority .Thats if its an actual UK company .0

Which site did you buy this from and are you sure it’s authentic…?
The fact it was “heavily discounted” and the offer of a 20% refund rather than a return suggests a Chinese site selling counterfeits to me…0 -
I really don't know what to do as other than that I love the bag and cannot find a replacement its for my sons wedding and matches perfectly.
Do you mean you cannot find one with a metal zip at the reduced price or that you cannot find one with a metal zip from any other supplier?
The latter would indicate that they may not make them with a metal zip anymore.0 -
I think I prefer the look of the plastic zip - but I'm a bloke so what do I know.
I have a 30 year old Chevignon leather jacket with a (branded) metal zip. It's given me no end of problems over the years and it currently doesn't "zip" at all. I think a decent plastic/nylon zip beats a metal one every time.1 -
Are you 100% sure that you were on the genuine website?Toyah14 said:I placed an order with a well known retailer of luxury handbags.
I've seen lots of not-genuine websites purporting to be the genuine one.
UGGs used to be one such company with lots of fakes being sold from websites.
Dr Marten is another.0 -
Well if you google "elkors.co.uk" you get no results relating to handbags.
Yes, I know it is not the full address... I'm going with it's a fake supplier.Life in the slow lane0 -

Given the OP's pic has shown a truncated version of '...elkors.co.uk' I'd hope/assume it relates to the official https://www.michaelkors.co.uk/ ?

But...looking at the genuine website, there are bags that could be classed as 'heavily discounted'.
One for £166 reduced from £415.
I'm very anal about things but I can't decide whether the metal zip looks better than the plastic one or not.
The metal goes with the bag's other fittings but the plastic one is less in-your-face.
If I found a bag that was 'heavily discounted' that was perfect in every other way, I'd go with the additional 20% discount as it seems that a bag with the metal zip is not available.
Of course - it also depends how much the OP can get one from an outlet with a plastic zip.
Or if she can find a genuine source that actually does have the bag she wants with a metal zip. And can confirm that it really does have a metal zip.0 -
Indeed - hence providing the 'official' site - if OP has used one with a smelling pistake then more fool themPollycat said:
