What Small DFW Things Will You Do This Week 09/08/21?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Morning folks
Thought I was feeling pretty good and I cycled home from work on Friday night (18 miles!). Felt exhausted Saturday and figured I'd just overdone it but still the same yesterday and tired today so I'm going to take it quite easy this week. No gym, no long cycle rides!
Weekend was a damp squib between the weather, generally feeling tired and a rather unwanted houseguest. It's a friend of OH's who has invited herself to stay for a week. Fair enough except OH is barely here. Not going to go into it too much, she's nice enough but I don't know her well enough to ignore her like I could a good friend IYKWIM.
Bit behind on everything dt houseguests etc but I'm going to try to nip up to the allotment and tidy up a bit after work
Have a good one all

Afternoon Carrie!
Not much going on here just at work! Two more weeks and I get a whole week off and I couldn't be happier. Longest I've ever taken off in the last 4 years. I think it will be beneficial mentally aswell.
Weekend was also damp here aswell, it's kind of sunny now but still windy, I've escaped work on my lunch dinner and sat outside so I don't have to deal with any work related stuff especially as I don't get paid my half hour lunch.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. Serious courgette mountain here too, @DawnW. Planning on wokking a pile of them with garlic to accompany tonight's meal & I think I may pickle another batch as we have already eaten a whole jar of the last lot. Mr F really likes them on salads & sarnies & they are very easy to do.
@ CLF - I do hope your house guest moves on soon. It's a bit awkward when you have to entertain someone you haven't invited.

Well she's made herself scarce... which is nice, although you don't know when she's in/out. But weirdly seems to be spending most of her time with some other friend and is going to squeeze my OH in for a lunch on Thurs. He's a bit peeved and said she can stay at that other person's house next time!LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.311

Hello all, I've not posted in ages, must try and get back in the habit as this thread always keeps me on the straight and narrow!
@carrielovesfanta sounds like a nightmare! I hate having houseguests.... even the invited ones!
In the way of small things
* made a chicken/potato curry that includes various bits and pieces of veg from the fridge/freezer inc radishes, some leftover sweet potato mash - will have this tonight with a couple of naan breads that are in my use up box (I set up a new kitchen use up box today which is what made me think of posting!)
* meal plan done for the week (and beef mince taken out of the freezer to make a chilli (which ds1 is going to cook) and some turkey mince that I'm going to use to make a stroganoff which was the lovely Purps recipe )
* updated freezer list as we want to have a bit of a use up of various things
* spent time deadheading in the garden to get a bit of peace from the kids rather then going to the shops!
* washed 2 loads on the quick wash and hung on the line to dry (only ironed the two shirts that I couldn't get away with just hanging straight in the wardrobes)
Thats about it!
Take care all (I'll try not to leave it months and months before posting again!)Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
