Estate agent “moving home gifts” normal?

As a first time buyer, I’ve often wondered if when you buy a home do you actually get they moving in treat from estate agents or do you just get a envelope/keyring?
I have heard of someone receiving a box of washing up liquid etc when they bought in a new development but is this the norm? Just out of simple curiosity.

What is the strangest / nicest/ funniest thing you’ve been given? Or nothing at all?

Not sure about estate agents but I got a moving home gift from my mortgage company.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.1

I didn’t realise mortgage companies would do that sort of thing. 👍what was it?0

Our purchaser gave us a bottle of bubbly as the house was spotless with carpets professionally cleaned before we left.1

Maybe I look at things too cynically - but I think businesses tend to give you gifts etc, when it's beneficial to them. e.g. Because they want you to do business with them.
If you've just moved into a new house, it's unlikely that you'll need the services of an estate agent for some years, so there's no real need to entice you with a gift.
In fact, I'm not sure I've come across anyone who's mentioned that they got a gift from an estate agent. Last time I bought a property, all I got was a jiffy bag through the post containing the keys and a compliment slip.
(But on the subject of 'unexpected' gifts from businesses... the vet sent a bouquet of flowers the day after they put my cat to sleep! TBH, I found it a bit weird and creepy.)

We usually leave a bottle of wine in the fridge and a welcome to your new home card with lots of useful information about who the neighbours are, bin collection dates and best wishes for their new home.
We’ve never had anything from the EA, didn’t even know that was a thing they did!0 -

The Estate Agent we purchased our house from gave us a bottle of champagne with the keys when we picked them up.1

Our EA gave us a branded wooden box with mini champagne, biscuits and a branded Chillys water bottle. Highly competitive market by us and word of mouth recommendations is part of the marketing strategy I guess. Another local EA has a bouquet of flowers delivered on moving day. Didn't get anything when I sold in 2009.1

From sales and purchases, I've only once had an EA gift - a bottle of thoroughly mediocre white wine with their logo on a label stuck over the real one, on completion of a purchase...

I've had gifts from other companies using their products and services.
I've had cupcakes, Pens, Socks, Beautiful stationary set, Dog harness etc
I will let you know if I get anything when I complete my house- Im expecting a crisp high five and bill tho.0
