  • I have an idea of turnover to within the nearest 1 or 2 thousand.  Try as a might all I can see is net earnings after expenses deducted
Your full tax return shows your turnover.  Look at that rather than your overview.

Look for the download / save as PDF option.  Then you'll see the box numbers Jeremy has helpfully provided.
  • Couldn't find it so took a guess, it must have been close enough as Rishi was happy and he sent me my free pennies LOL

And to think that some people think that the current systems are unwieldy, unfair and unfit for purpose.

HMRC may do some checks later on. I don't understand what your problem is concerning finding your turnover. You must have filed a self assessment return with a form SA103. Turnover is clearly stated on form SA103 as I stated earlier.

If you don't know what your turnover is, you may have some problems when HMRC introduce MTD ITSA from 2023.

At the moment the grants seem to be going through mainly unchecked , there are warnings about making sure that the figures you provide along with the information are true and correct - I just hope your guess was accurate enough!

  • This is probably a wake up call to keep more accurate records - and if you can’t be bothered / aren’t too good at admin, hire a book keeper.

I had a ‘check’ from the VAT man some years ago and they wanted to go over everything; if I’d have not even been able to demonstrate where it came from / went to I’d have been in a heck of a lot of trouble!
