After checking, it's actually the WMA 510 I have, the cheapest washer I could find back in July with it delivered free in under 24 hours of my old one breaking. :D

I am pleased for you genuinely! Still watch out for the concrete tho! maybe its a fault on this model, not sure yet but I am going to pursue Beko over it for anyone else out there...... thanks Lee
  • Can the washing machine still be used if this happens? What I'm, saying is.. it's happened to my Beko washing machine and although I've got a new one on order, obviously it's not going to be delivered till well into the new year :(

With no concrete block you'll find it halfway to tesco's after use...

Totally, mine was in the middle of the kitchen. Where I am at with it, I have had to buy a new machine. I know the bolts are sheared off because I was left with the block and half of two bolts so the other halves are still obviously in the machine. I will Pm you Devil regarding my conversation with Beko to date. If anyone else has had the same problem, I am going to pursue this with Beko so if we all join forces we could have a stronger case so feel free to post on here or PM me.

Unfortunately it is a common problem. From what I understand, Beko have 2 factories in Turkey, one of them makes the 510 and 520, the other makes the pricier machines.

I've only collected 510's and 520's but it seemed that it was only machines that were delivered up until august time that were affected. In my opinion, the only thing wrong with these machines is the 2 bolts, nothing wrong with the machines themselves.

One word of advice, do not under any circumstances use the machine without the concrete as the drum can move alot and damage the circuit boards, and this will almost certainly write the machine off

If its a case of the two bolts snapping is there some other design issue (captive heads maybe?) that would stop a competent person replacing them with hi-tensile equivalents?

Seems daft on a MSE forum to throw away an otherwise working washing machine for a 10p component. Did it damage the drum?
  • Thanks very much that's very useful. I haven't used the machine and don't intend to until it is repaired properly. It isn't just a case of sticking two new bolts in because half of the snapped bolt is still inside the machine, the rest dropped out of the bottom of the machine with the block so that's why I want Beko to come and fix it - free of charge!
  • Thanks for the advice Whits, but I class my machine as written off anyway. I think I've had it too long to complain to beko about it.
