Beko washing machine - concrete block fallen out

Options
Hi

Calling all washing machine repair people please. The concrete block has come away from the bottom of the washing machine and the washing machine was found in the middle of the kitchen floor! Do you think this is something I can repair myself or repair myself with another strong pair of hands?

thanks

Unfortunately, as someone who delivers washing machines, I have seen loads of these recently.

The problem is that the 2 bolts that hold the concrete in place are too weak. It is possible to replace the bolts but if these sheared off a while ago, it's likely that the concrete will have been worn away somewhat by the drum rubbing against it.

If you were to fix it, it could mean that the machine will be out of balance and still 'walk'

Thank you for your advice but that doesn't sound very good. :D It has been making a racket so I would guess this is because the block has been coming loose gradually and probably rubbing on the drum. So, does this mean a new washing then??

WMA 520. If it starts to make a racket when it spins and vibrting alot then suspect the concrete block is about to fall out

:rotfl: sorry, I shouldn't laugh at other's misfortune :D At least you know what to watch/listen out for, if you catch it early then I guess you might be able to tighten the bolts. I haven't tackled mine yet as OH is away and I need another pair of hands..... I'll try and remember to post as to whether it is repaired via DIY!

The lastest, Whits was quite correct, the bolts have sheared off, snapped in half with one half attached to the block and the other stuck inside the plastic inside the washing machine! It would appear, possibly from Whits that this is a common fault - is this just with Beko machines, perhaps you can elaborate please?.I am buying a new a new washing machine (it's actually for my new tenant and they can't wait for a repair and I don't want them to have to wait and they deserve reliability) so I am going to make a claim against Beko for a faulty product. It's out of warranty but only just but it hasn't had 12 months of use because it was bought and then stored for a few months fully packaged before it was installed so has had less than twelve month's use. Anyone else had a problem because if so you can join me on my mission against Beko! In my opinion it's not fit for purpose if this is what happens. Comments welcome!

After checking, it's actually the WMA 510 I have, the cheapest washer I could find back in July with it delivered free in under 24 hours of my old one breaking. :D
