I'm afraid I don't know what I am doing. I thought I had posted this earlier this morning and, somehow, it seems to have disappeared and this is my second attempt - this is a shorter version than earlier. I'll be glad of any help.
I have a Sony TV from 2014 and a Humax Box from 2019. I have had a lot of problems (several Aerial installers) and was so grateful when a new person came out and sorted my system (living room and bedroom TV's) over a year ago. I have a new outside roof aerial and a booster box in my loft. I have been told not to switch off the booster box where it is plugged into my bedroom TV. I have noticed that on FreeView Play that the number of channels has reduced but this has not been a problem because I have plenty to choose from including Humax recorded programmes and BBC iPlayer. I rely on subtitles to avoid having the volume up on both my Sony living room TV and my Panasonic bedroom TV. Everything has been really good since then until today.
This notice came upon my Sony TV:
Some applications are unavailable due to boot error.
I am really out of my depth (The Google solution seems difficult for me to follow) and if anyone can tell me if there is an easy to understand way of fixing this I will be grateful. I could not find anything on the TV help. Like most people in Lockdown the TV/Humax has been so good to have. If I can't sort it myself I wonder if I just ignore it - will my system continue to work but just with fewer channels? My living room TV/Humax 'system' is on HDMI2 - in case that makes a difference and my problems over a year ago were, I think, something to do with needing two tuners for Humax.
I'll be glad of any help, thank you.

Your TV may need a software update, Try resetting it to the factory settings. I don't have a Sony TV, but, if you look in the settings menu there will be a factory reset option. Someone will be along soon to walk you through it I'm sure.
It's not your Humax box.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Thanks very much, RumRat. I think I have the Sony user booklet from 2014. I'll look for it and see what it says about how to reset to factory settings. It's good to know that it's not likely to be the Humax box - I think the i-Manual I was trying to look through was Humax.
I appreciate your reply.

We have a Sony Smart TV from 2014. It's not very smart and a lot of the apps - IPlayer etc simply do not work. All kinds of error messages and a reset did not work.
All solved with an Amazon Firestick so all the clever stuff is done via that leaving the TV just for the basics.1 -
Thanks for replying Troytempest. I have a Humax box connected to both my bedroom TV (Panasonic) and my 2014 Sony TV in the living room. After reading your post I wonder if my 2014 Sony TV is beginning to ware out - it has been well used and when I got the Humax Box in 2019 it made a big difference.
I have not managed to go through the Sony Instruction Manual yet although the Humax and TV are viewed on HDMI 2 - and this is where the notice came up on screen.
I did not understand with all the aerial related problems previously, and I was so pleased when one Aerial Installer finally managed to find out that Humax needed 2 tuners and seemed to fix it by putting a booster box (I think that is what it is called) in my loft with the new aerial outside on the roof.
Thank you again for replying.

It may be worth checking that the tv Firmware is up to date. That plus a reset to factory settings is about all you can do for yourself.
These functions will be available through one of the tv menus but you may need the user manual to find this. Try googling the tv model and download the manual if you can't find it.
The hdmi setting shouldn't have anything to do with this but if hdmi one is unused you can always try it out.
I don't really understand about the Humax needing two tuners as this isn't something the aerial installer could change (unless it is a Freesat unit rather than Freeview)1 -
Thanks Neil49. I got as far as finding Server the Network Connection and it is my name and a very old Dell adminuser. I have not had that Dell Laptop for a long time now and I have a different Windows 10 laptop now.
I have a Plusnet handy reference router card but don't know from correct scan list where to find my Security WPA key:I entered WiFi Password (Key) and after checking internet connection it came back as Security Key error.
I'm not understanding what I am trying to do, and I might need to give up and try again tomorrow. I do appreciate all the help here though, thank you.

Check on the router itself for the password, it's normally printed on the bottom. You're looking for the wifi password and it will be case sensitive.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
I managed to find Software Version PKG3.006EUA - and it looks as if that is all right - is that the same as the TV firmware, Neil49? Thanks.

Update: I tried again being very careful about case sensitive and this time it worked, thank you. I'm going to stop now and do some more work on it tomorrow. Your help really is appreciated.

You have misunderstood what the aerial installer said. The humax has two tuners inside which is not relevant.
I have a similar age sony tv.
On my sony remote there is a white button labelled i-manual which is the manual referred to
I also have a humax so I can confirm that you are able to view the i-manual if you press the i-manual button even whilst watching via the humax.
