Fixed are all higher0 -
You'll pay more for variable rates in the long run. Prices are only going up at the moment. Fix while you can. Perhaps avoid symbio in your case.0

Fix before October. £139 increase on the Ofgem cap will add to that percentage increase. I've been quoted around a 40% increase on top of another inflation busting increase earlier this year. Also be wary of smaller companies, they are vulnerable right now (those on the cheapest contacts are likely on there to take advantage of their low, suspected unsustainable, prices and waiting for the inevitable move to another company or going bust). I can imagine Ofgem will be under pressure to lift the cap or risk jobs and businesses.0

A couple of days later and now its £82 a month and they've increased my gas consumption estimate for next year by over 1000kwh (to 15079) I have used approx 240kwh this month cost approx £9 including standing charge ( 1/4 less than last month)Robin9 said:Those overestimates Elec 140 kWh £21; gas 62 Kwh £2 (total £2 a month - insignificant)

Their gas consumption is a guess - it doesn't really matter. If you use less the DD you will be paying will reduce, use more and it will go up.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Whatever your Direct Debit is, ultimately you pay for what you use. If you use less than the estimate on which the DD is based you will get a refund. If you use more then you will have to pay the balance, usually by means of an increase in your DD until it is paid-off.Reed0

As above re DD , just had a £100 refund as DD was higher than actual usage turned out to be as i used less electric during lockdown .
