HSBC MSE £140 switch offer

Care to elaborate a little please?someone said:I contacted the switch team after 30 days post switch as did not have the bonus paid. They went over each term in detail and asked questions. At the end they paid me the £140. It appeared instantly as "hsbc compensation" (or something close to that).

I sensed they really wanted you to verbally confirm you met all the criteria, this was a little more complicated for me as I held a HSBC account many moons ago (so they went an checked that) and hold a First Direct account (so they went into when that was opened, I just told them that the current statement number was X and given the statement was monthly it was 9-10 years ago the First direct one was opened) etc.Just be prepared to be quizzed on the criteria.Obviously under no circumstances lie or mislead. If unsure on anything be honest and tell them that. Better to spend a few more mins on the phone than the bank closing the account, issuing a CIFAS marker on your credit file and in the worse case prosecuting for fraud (they will have an audio recording).1

Just phoned the switch team on 0345 587 3430,asked to confirm I used mse link to open account and that i had never had a hsbc account.metrobus said:30 days were up for me yesterday, will be giving them a ring later.
They said it would be logged as a complaint and if the £140 credit would resolve the complaint,I said yes it would and they immmediately credited my account with it.2 -
Gave them a call. Confirmed when I last had an HSBC account, and when that was closed. Apparently there is still the end of this week for the bonus to go in, even though it's way past the 30 days from the switch date. Doesn't make sense, but I'm happy to wait.0

Do you need a salary of at least £25,600/year to be accepted?0

You mean, '... do they decline all retirees, all people of independent means, everyone on benefits....?'tryin said:Do you need a salary of at least £25,600/year to be accepted?0 -
PS But they are picky...

Firstly the £140 offer has finished and replaced with another offer (£110 cash + £30 Uber Eats voucher or The Dining Out Gift Card).Secondly, they are picky in two ways. HSBC are known for either turning down applications (for the HSBC Advance Bank Account) or offering an account that does not qualify for the offer (HSBC Bank Account) to those applying especially if they are going via one of these offers.

Gave them a call - they actually quoted the MSE link to me and I confirmed that I had used that and not the current cash+Uber eats offer. Resolved by transferring the £140. Good advice!1
