Help!!

Putting house on market for sale however didn’t put the water bill in our name or paid water bill when bought and moved to the house 7 years ago. Water bill coming in previous owner name.
how do we start to fix this, will Conveyancing (Water authority searches) trigger investigation, I know messed up big time but how do I fix this? 

Will they add charge to land registry there unable to sell, county court judgement, how do we approach water company to fix it ASAP so that we can sell.  
We need to sell quickly as moving abroad.

Ring the phone number on the bill and put the bill in your name.

What about the fact no bills have been paid for last 7 years while we lived here wont that trigger investigation and problems

What would that music be? We need to sell to in order to move.  We can try to sort it but don’t want the sale to have issues in parallel that’s the question.

That music will be a big bill - I  don't think there are any other issues like credit rating.

Yea not sure how big the bill? do they put on interest and penalty?

We are only 2 people and there’s water meter.

GO and read the water meter and take a photo of the reading, then ring the water company and explain.

The water company, will advise the money owed, and put the bill into your name/s, pay the bill, take readings often so you know what you owe, ring and give them a final reading when the house is sold on the day it completes.

Four of us in a 3-bed semi, on a water meter, no ponds or hot tubs, are paying £500 pa total for water and sewage.

You might get a £3000 bill to pay?
