  • She is going to the Falklands so I doubt there is much choice of pink laptops or indeed any colour for sale there?

In this case she would have the ability to return it home via forces mail and father could then return to local Tesco should there be any problems.

Personally I'd rather have a dell than a medion. Ok there are no pink dells???? but Dell is a better buy. If the quality is decided on Pinkness, the Medion is the far superior machine, but it is not my money ;)

If speed/gaming and vista are not important but ruggedness and reliability is then a 2nd hand Panasonic Toughbook might be worth considering too
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • Now that one I do like :rotfl:

But the problem is the time it takes to get a Dell when the OP, or at least his daughter needs it now.

Departure dates have now been confirmed, so there is little opportunity to be flexible. Yes, we already confirmed the power source is fine. The person she is replacing has had no issues with their laptop in the same room.

What I have taken on board though is the warranty thing and if she will be in breach of T&C etc. so will work on that tomorrow. If this developes further I will let you know.

I'd really like someone to clarify this please. The laptop is due tomorrow, my daughter has now read this thread, and is a bit concerned that she hadn't noticed the machine didn't have bluetooth. I am of the opinion that a dongle might be the answer. She would use it for swapping photographs from phone to to cam. Would this be the answer?
