Paying sellers storage costs??

Sorry to hear it, but better to find out now than further down the line. I’m currently living in temporary accommodation and paying a fortune for two very cheesed-off cats to live in a cattery, but it is only because I had agreed to proceed with my sale and was very close to exchange that I managed to secure the house that I’m buying (fingers crossed). You’ll be in a very strong position with cash in the bank.Moving out was stressful but much less so than immediately having to move in to a new house.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0

Sorry that your seller has put you in this situation. Buying and selling relies so much on integrity and people making a decision then sticking with it. Unfortunately life happens to us all and sometimes even the best laid plans must change. Doesn't help you or your son though. If you know the area that you are moving to well, hopefully you have people to help you out. If it's a new area then perhaps it is a blessing in disguise as you might learn more about what you need by renting, than concentrating on what you want right now.enewell said:Unfortunately we live nearly 100 miles away from where we are going. The agreement has always been to complete in August. Looks like I need to have some honest conversations and start making some plans.
We already had one buyer and seller pull out at the start of this year. Think I'm at my wits end now!
For context, two years ago we uprooted and moved 4hrs away to a new area. Went into rented due to the speed of our move and started looking around. Thought we were going to buy in catchment for schools, then Covid hit. Two years on, we are not long into our new place. Bought in a completely different part of town after deciding that needing to be by schools was a short term requirement which would negatively impact on commute to work, size of property etc etc. By living locally we learnt about traffic hot spots, local perception of areas, amenities etc etc. Whilst going into rented is a bind as you'll know there is a second move on the horizon, I'd suggest finding somewhere with a garage to store all but most essential items. Live as simply as you can so less to repack when the time comes.1
