Finally took courage and Lo! found I could unlock my faithful Nokia. Inserted Tesco SIM card(half-price £2.97)and was relieved to find all contact no.s and most txts(not the most recent)had transferred, too. BUT-
.....Tesco txt said I had only 80p Credit, when I did £30 top-up at Boots over Bank Holiday(triple points!) and also had letter from Orange 2 days ago crediting me with another £9.00(because of earlier Top-up).
Where has this credit gone and is it retrievable - PLEASE?
This would be a huge loss for me.

you should not lose any money..it's stored on the network side, not on your sim card so i'm not sure what happened there ??
have you checked the credit just now ??...you may be looking at an old txt msgEx forum ambassador

Thankyou Browntoa.
Credit now reduced further to 68p and don't quite know what to do next.
Am I paying to receive messages? - surely not.
Have selected )2 as Network Setting as this is the one that consistently shows first in the list, Orange having proven useless in the last 6 months especially(had to go outside in garden, point mobile skyward and move about in hope of picking up signal - and this is in open country, farmland to rear, flat land and a small village. Even this fails more and more, hence change and termination of contract to PAYG)
My only use was to set 3 no.s for half-price calls and this is Free, according to the blurb.
Shall have to tackle call to Orange tomorrow - with dread.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

are you saying your using a tesco sim to check your orange credit? if so you cant. is the credit on the orange sim or the tesco sim?
did you check your balance (dial 453 on orange) after you had topped up as sometimes it doesnt go through correctly.
your not receiving any premium rate ringtones/screensavers etc are you0 -
Morning, drahcir -
No. nothing fancy on my 'phone. Yes, have Tesco Sim in and had assumed Orange Credit would come across, too. Should I unlock to revert to Orange briefly? - just long enough to check how much should be coming across with me, then going back to Tesco with another unlock again? If so, would I use the next code which appears on the list I printed yesterday, or do the codes alter each time they are accessed?
I hugely appreciate the help you and others offer. I am curently unable to upload e-bay things from Turbo-lister and, nearly a fortnight on, am getting nowehere with their advisors(loads of e-mail exchange)- though that is not for this forum. Apologies - just feel in despair, after days and nights of it, getting nowhere - up the glass mountain under the cosh.

you do not need to use any more codes
the Credit on your Orange sim stays with Orange so you need to use the Orange sim until your credit has run out as this does not transfer to your Tesco sim card. Once you have used up all your credit on the Orange sim then you need to put your tesco sim card in the phone and top that up.
I think you assumed that your credit would transfer between the networks as well
the ebay thing may be solved here, there is an ebay forum and a Techie forum, I would ask the question about the turbo lister in the Tech section first
