Credit check and address

If you update with your bank / credit card companies / dvla that sort of thing then it should all update automatically and they will push the data to the CRAs, you don't need to update with the CRAs directly but no harm in doing so. Electoral roll depends on the local council, could be immediate if they do it once a month and you time it right, could be a few if they do it less often. Generally if you move, update everything as soon as you are in and leave it 3-6 months before applying for credit anyway, particularly if any of the CRAs don't have up to date details. Lenders don't like risk so you saying you live at X and have records saying you live at Y it brings up red flags to them.almanak said:
We've updated the record with Experian however the dates regarding electoral roll are strange and they are also not the ones we registered ourselves. Do they update it immediately or after they process it. Does it really matter?Deleted_User said:You should apply at the address your credit is registered to - all your financial records like bank statements, electoral role etc
If you are living in one place but records listed elsewhere a year after you moved in, that would be a problem especially if there was something to tie you to multiple addresses e.g. bank in one, council tax in another1 -
well sometimes red flags are landlords from the beginning so you are not so quick in updating address to not have a 2 months stay on record that can significantly decide about YOUR credibility/stability later.Deleted_User said:
