New washing machine advice - at least 9kg

Hi there.
Firstly, apologies if this is the best place to post this - there seem to be a number of forums where this should go.
Our Samsung Ecobubble has just given up the ghost, just over 5 years after purchase.
We were not particularly pleased with it to be honest - intermittent problems with the fabric softener drawer emptying too early, cycles randomly getting stuck and having to be reset. Furthermore, the bearings went as well.
Anyway, we are looking for a new one and would be very grateful for any advice on what to go for.
Only real criteria, that I can currently think of, is that it should be at least 9kg and preferably no more than £500.00.
Any pointers would be much appreciated.
Currently looking at Bosch but have no idea whether they are as reliable, as a brand, as they used to be.

Bosch, Siemens, AEG/John Lewis, but your options may be limited due to 9kg and less than £500.1

Thanks for that - bit of a development on this one.
I rang Samsung and whilst they confirmed that my machine was not covered by any 5-year warranty, they offered me 25% off another machine (voucher to be received by e-mail within 24 hours).
With such a saving, if I can buy a similar machine with a 5-year warranty (which some Samsung models are), I think I might be tempted to give Samsung another go.

I saw this on the other day - https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/2020-series-5-addwash-washing-machine-9kg-1400rpm-ww90t554daws1-at-samsung-epp-3770681 but it's on the Samsung employee purchase program but you may get it similarly priced with your voucher.
Personally I'd go Bosch.2 -
Have you actually weighed your washing? Larger capacity machines might not be all they're cracked up to be.

We have the Samsung washer, it’s about 3 years old, it was very noisy on spin but we put this down to our old kitchen and layout, we upgraded to a new kitchen last year but the washer was still noisy on spin, we solved it by jamming foam around it between the wall, cabinet and worktop, not ideal but it works, next washer we get will be either Miele or Bosch2

Trouble I can see is 9 kg on full spin and machine under £ 500 - whatever glossy brochures tell you does not change the laws of physics . In that price range you will inevitably get something with cheap, inadequate bearing on sealed drum, use it often and chances are it will fail again in 5 or so years.. As you were offered 25 % discount, why not going for a smaller capacity as it will be much easier on ball bearings and motor and machine should be in mechanically more reliable. Do you actually need 9 kg capacity ( have you weighed dry clothes ? ) or you just think you need it. Full basket of dry clothes is often less than 4 -5 kg....1

We had a samsung eco bubble 9kg, worst washing machine ever. Gone back to an LG direct drive 9kg. Great machine1

Thanks everyone - I think I might do a bit of testing and see if, as you say, I could get away with a smaller drum.Hudsonbutler said:We had a samsung eco bubble 9kg, worst washing machine ever. Gone back to an LG direct drive 9kg. Great machine0

How many are in your family and how often do you do a wash?
We are currently trying to work out whether we could get away with less then 9kg - difficult when we are so used to what we currently have.0
