A check on the 3 bedroom rates for the local authority may show multiple rates so could see if there is a £150 one there (equiv £650 per month)Spoonie_Turtle said:
I wonder whether, if it's done manually at all, a DWP employee mistyped your postcode at any point of your claim.

https://lha-direct.voa.gov.uk/If that's your weekly LHA for your circumstances then your monthly rate will be £195.62 x 52 divided by 12 = £847 per month. How did you get the sum of £713.92?How much is the weekly 2 bed rate?0 -
Ah, forgive me. I’m now confused as to what date I’m putting in the calculator as it says when your housing benefit claim started. Our original HB (non UC) started in 2014 yet the calculator only give the option of 2019-2022! I put 2019 which is where the £719.32 comes from.poppy12345 said:scoobiemandan said:

I’m now assuming I need to put in the month and year of my UC claim??
If so, the weekly rate would be £195.62 which would mean we are even more out of pocket!
No matter what amount of bedrooms I put in or what year £150pw LHA doesn’t come up (which is what UC have given).
By all means, check yourself. Three bedroom entitlement, Rother (Sussex East BRMA).0 -
The Rother two bed LHA rate is £149.59 so that appears to be (incorrectly) what they are using. I suspect they have not counted your non dependant 18 year old in the calculation of your bedroom allowance.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

But that equates to £648.22pcm not £650pcm and I’m assuming they don’t round up but use exact figures!calcotti said:The Rother two bed LHA rate is £149.59 so that appears to be (incorrectly) what they are using.
Seems to me they’ve plucked a figure out of thin air!0 -
Yes, to see what it should be for your current UC claim you need to put in the right month and year. Presumably your UC claim has only just started, so any previous amounts are irrelevant.scoobiemandan said:

Bizarre. That's so odd! The only bang-on £150 rate I've found so far (via Google - I can't open the full rates spreadsheet on Android) is for 4 bedrooms in Blackpool … !!scoobiemandan said:

The UC system will pay a little more than the LHA rate, often a rounding up, so I expect this is correct.
I think the statement calculation is based on 2 bed rate, as at the time the statement was calculated not everybody living at the address had been verified.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.1 -
UPDATEThey have now amended the claim to include the carers element. However, as it's been suggested, they are paying the two bedroom rate even though there's myself, my wife, 13yr old daughter and 18yr old (non-dependant) daughter who is still eligible for the bedroom to make it three. They've also advised me to input my wife's earnings as NIL even though it requests total earnings from myself and her. I'll be buggered if I'm gonna work out all my earnings again as they already have that information and because my pay changed from weekly to monthly in the period they already have along with payment in leu of weeks missed when they moved us to monthly. I say this because their system doesn't allow for a weekly then monthly pay period. It took me a month of Sundays working out what was paid just to get it on their systems and I don't want to upset the apple cart by dong it again but going to different figures, even though the end result for the whole 12 months would be exactly the same.Jeez, benefits eh! This is such a simple claim to calculate. No earnings (apart from ESA) to make anything change from one month to the next!0
