Admiral insurance vs Admiral Casino

So, have Admiral insurance confirmed whether or not they have received funds for your insurance?
If they have it sounds like the issue is with Monzo.
If they haven't did you call Admiral or did they call you? Just wondering if this is some sort of scam where someone has managed to get you to give them your card details and then used them to deposit into the casino.
Odd suggestion I know but probably no odder than Admiral Insurance managing to process a payment into Admiral Casino0 -
I'd be somewhat concerned that my card provider would auto-select a gambling company over an insurance company ... is gambling really a bigger business than insurance? (I can see why it might happen ... Casino comes before Insurance alphabetically if only the name Admiral was supplied).jimjames said:
If you paid Admiral for the policy by card then it sounds like the ID that's showing on Monzo is wrong and shouldn't be a problemGlasgow1994 said:Thanks everyone. There was a problem taking the money they said, although there was money in the bank and no issues. So I paid with the same card over the phone to Admiral. It came up as Admiral betting straight away on Monzo.Jenni x1 -
Or even more concerning that a bank would make a payment over the phone purely on the name of the company - surely there was a cross-ref of account number/sort code ? I can understand an online transaction if I'd made transactions to both businesses previously and selected the wrong one but this all seems so implausibleJenni_D said:

I was more thinking that the payment went to the correct recipient but the Monzo app auto-selected the wrong name to display - i.e. picked the first Admiral in the list.k3lvc said:

Until the OP responds then we can merely speculate.

Card provider has nothing to do with selecting any retailer.Jenni_D said:

If OP has paid Admiral Ins then that is where any error in the naming is. OP banks has no part in the transaction other than approving it. Retailer takes the money. Bank does not send it.
Admiral have a history for unusual problems with descriptions. I have known them just use random letters & pne time simply a blank description.
Think it is some muppet that is updating the description on the payments software that messes up.
Monzo would know by the Catsic code what type of retailer it want too.Life in the slow lane0 -
The OP wasn't talking to the bank as I understood it, they were speaking with Admiral Insurance to pay for their policyk3lvc said:
