Hello, Not sure if anyone has experienced this. My car insurance with Admiral was due to be paid in one lump sum. Its been paid to Admiral Betting/ Casino rather than Admiral Insurance. Admiral are being very unhelpful but Im concerned its not paid the insurance. Plus Im going for a mortgage and dont want to look as if I gamble £000s of pounds. Anyone else experienced this?

They are not the same company or even owned by the same people?Glasgow1994 said:Hello, Not sure if anyone has experienced this. My car insurance with Admiral was due to be paid in one lump sum. No surprises there, Admiral insurance are the 'Ryanair' of the insurance world, took me longer to move away from them than to buy a policy from them!Glasgow1994 said:Hello, Not sure if anyone has experienced this. How did you pay it - direct debit, bank transfer, cheque, over the phone?

Admiral Insurance are probably being unhelpful because it's not their problem. You (or your bank or whoever) have sent the money to the wrong company. Until Admiral (Insurance) get their money there will be no insurance in place. You need to pay them as your first priority, then try to recover the mis-directed money.

Thanks everyone. There was a problem taking the money they said, although there was money in the bank and no issues. So I paid with the same card over the phone to Admiral. It came up as Admiral betting straight away on Monzo.0

Monzo said over the phone it’s the same company? Although Google suggested otherwise, Im very confused.0

"Admiral Casino is run by Greentube Alderney Ltd"
https://www.greentube.com/subsidiary/greentube-alderney/
https://www.greentube.com/about-us/
It's the Channel Island-based subsidiary of a German parent company
https://www.admiral.com/
"Admiral is a trading name of EUI Limited. (Reg No: 02686904). EUI Limited is a subsidiary of Admiral Group plc"
They are completely and unrelated businesses - except for sharing one word of their name.
You say you paid by card over the phone. What number did you call? Where did you find it?0 -
Have you tried contacting Admiral Casinos?
Contact their head office and explain that you sent them money in error, give them the date made and the exact amount. Don't let them fob you off, explain politely and ask for the money to be returned. Any reputable company will return funds that were sent to them in error.
Having previously worked in finance, if we received funds that had no reference to enable them to be allocated to a customers account, we would hold these as 'unallocated funds' usually a customer would contact us querying about the payment and we could then allocate to the customers account.
After a month or so, we would return the funds to the account the funds were paid from if we were unable to allocate it.

Well insurance should be able to confirm you have paid them.Glasgow1994 said:Hello, Not sure if anyone has experienced this. My car insurance with Admiral was due to be paid in one lump sum. If you paid Admiral for the policy by card then it sounds like the ID that's showing on Monzo is wrong and shouldn't be a problemGlasgow1994 said:Thanks everyone.
