If your are happy with £100 for a non working laptop then it is a good deal.
I might have contacted dell and taken out an extended warranty on it though
I might have tried another shop and told them that you other half "he said it is the inverter, but he is currently not in the country and so can not fix it, and how much to put one in and how much for the screen?" line.
£250 is a lot to pay for a screen + labour on a 3 year laptop, so you saved £250 and got £100 too, so think it is ok to have £350 towards a new one.
Would I have purchased that broken laptop for £100 - I don't think so as i'm a bit tight
For £50 I may have if I were desperate, but it just does not have enough mem & hdd and I could get something not too shabby for around £400 with a years warranty.
Just slip the old hdd into a 2.5 usb caddy off ebuyer/ebayGOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.
