"Material Uncertainty related to going concern
We draw attention to........indicate a material uncertainty exists that may cast doubt of the parent company's and group's ability to continue as a going concern......"

Extracted from audit report on filed accounts for 2019. No accounts filed subsequently and CFO resigned in July 2021 without being replaced (so far).

I'd be running a mile from this company even if it meant an exit fee and a more expensive tariff notwithstanding that there are customer protections available for failed energy companies.

  • Thanks to ColBal re Customer Member Representatives.👍
I emailed the one in my area, and two emails later, Peoples Energy have confirmed my DD will remain as it is, but they have asked me to monitor my usage so I don't go into debit - which I am more than happy to do. 👍
  • Glad it worked for you TaweJohn. I don't understand why they keep it such an unobvious way to get customer satisfaction. It's one of the few pluses that I would consider when my contract runs out.
  • Well, ceased trading, can't say I am surprised. Pleased I had some of my credit balance back, although I am still in credit with them.
