Artist's impressions don't form part of your contract. Indeed, the contract probably has a clause specifically saying that none of the sales guff is contractual, and all that counts is what's in the contract. If they've built according to the drawings approved by the planners, that's what matters.
some of the drawings have amazing artistic licence - large trees, well stocked front garden, sunny skies, no other buildings near by etc etc - definitely not contractual

Did the plans or developer literature show a sketch of 3 cars on the drive? Most brochures I browse always show a mocked up picture so you can see how many vehicles driveway will take.
They gave the dimensions, and the final driveway conforms to those...
  • I would say yes, a garage is a parking space, otherwise, what is the point of a garage? It would be called a storage room or otherwise?

Yes, it was deliberate deception but there’s bound to have been a ‘get-out clause’. The term ‘parking space’ is also deliberately misleading. It implies ‘area’ not a structure.

The old expression ‘buyer beware’ has never been more relevant than in today’s economic climate.

Wish we had a garage: we’d have a lot more space then to store our ladders, bikes, b&d workmates, fishing rods etc!

    would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

Yes, they mislead you, but as the drive way dimensions were given it was up to you to check your car would fit.

Yes, a garage is a parking space. That is the whole point of a garage - somewhere to put your car! And if you're lucky then enough space around the car to store some junk.

If they have made the garage too small to fit a car, then you might have a case...

Our garage counts as 2 parking spaces then we have 3 on the driveway. Parking was imperative to us as having lived in Oxford I want to be able to park when I get home and also have space for friends to park when they visit. We always park on the drive and use the garage for parking motorbikes.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

We don’t have a garage but have a spare room which is used for storage.  There’s a bit of room to put seed trays in the spring as well.  Unfortunately I keep forgetting to water them  :/. I do have a really nice crop of basil now, so home made pesto is on the cards.   :)

In development and planning terms ‘parking space’ simply means a location in which a vehicle can be parked. Nothing further is implied by those two words alone.

A parking space with a related structure would be described as a 'covered parking space' (e.g. a car port) or an 'enclosed parking space' (e.g. a garage)

‘Parking space’ doesn't even imply that the space is large enough to park a specific type of vehicle.  The OP would be significantly worse off if a developer's written/verbal offer of 'three vehicle parking spaces' had been met by the provision of space to park three bicycles.

As others have said, it is up to the buyer to check the details and ask questions to make sure they are buying what they think they are buying.

How was it deception? The artists impression only showed one vehicle on the driveway according to the OP and they just assumed two more would fit in the space left without even looking at the measurements.

"Parking Space" isn't misleading at all. There is a parking space in the garage.

Using your logic multi story car parks have no parking spaces in them because they are structures built for parking...
