When you filed your Defence by email, did you get an automated email receipt from the CCBC?

If so, as @Coupon-mad says, email the CCBC and, as well as sending them another copy of your Defence, also include that automated email receipt.

You must do that today - before 8am tomorrow morning.

At the moment it looks like the Claimant is free to seek a Default Judgment against you and has been able to do that since last Tuesday. It does seem rather strange that they have warned you instead of seeking that Default Judgment. Not typical behaviour of BWL
  • Thanks all. It got updated after some chasing and I am now at the N180 form stage... I have filled in as instructed from the newbies page. Just checking re the below... Do I send a copy to BW and PPS? By post and/or email?
You send a copy to the courts and another copy to the Claimant company. Keep a copy for yourself. As mentioned before, there is a long delay (20+ weeks) between this form and an actual day in court.
    Thank you again!

Send a copy to the claimants as indicated on the claim form.  There is usually an address for sending documents.  If you have an e-mail address and/or they have communicated with you by e-mail, then it is fine to send by e-mail.

The address is of course BW Legal, because that is why they are using them.  You can email BW.

Hello! I have now reached the point of Notice of Transfer of Proceedings for the first case - I will start working on my defence for that soon...
BW have been in touch again re the 2nd case they are bringing against me. I have received the Letter of Claim. I sent back the Reply form only, stating that I dispute the debt. They have now followed up with another letter enclosing a copy of the PPS paperwork refusing my initial appeal. They state 'you ticked that you dispute the debt, but you did not provide your reasoning for this. Please advise us on why this matter is disputed by yourself'. I don't recall doing this at this stage for the other one and the FAQs do not mention anything about this. Any advice your end? I am inclined to ignore it...

Err... you have already filed a Defence for that case.
You are now at the stage where you are gathering evidence and writing a Witness Statement.

There are two separate claims against me for 'offences' on different dates - around a year apart.
They denied my request to consolidate the 2 in to one case and I am therefore dealing with them separately.

But I quoted part of your post...

As 'the first case' has 'reached the point of Notice of Transfer of Proceedings', then, for 'that first case', you are now at the stage where you are gathering evidence and writing a Witness Statement.

Reply and tell them you have already pointed out that they have missed the boat because this should have been litigated as one claim, and because their client has already filed claim number xxxxxxx this second bite at the cherry for a similar (exact match part from the date) facts 'parking charge' is estopped and their continuing to pursue it separately is an abuse.
