Credit Style chasing Tonik energy debt?

Hi,
I don't know if there will be anything that can done about this, but if there is any advice that could be given would be greatly appreciated.
I switched over to UW in April last year from tonik energy and there were some difficulties due to my smart meter not working correctly. I never got a final bill from tonik but was owed some credit and was paid some money back in seperate payments. Tonik have since gone into administration last October, but now I have a debt collection agency "credit style" trying to chase me for money owed to tonik energy. It started with phone calls which I let go to answerphone and just got half an automated message on the voicemail which I just ignored as seemed like spam. I have since received a letter on Saturday saying I owe £274 and I will receive an invoice to my email address on record (not received yet) and today a text message asking me to call them urgently. I have looked up credit style and from reviews they do not seem like a very reputable company so I am hesitant to try and contact them, unless I get an actual invoice showing what/why I owe them money.
Thanks

You're not alone, see this short thread:Do you have your Tonik bills and all the relevant meter readings & tariff details? If so it's relatively simple to calculate how much you owed them, how much you paid them and what the outstanding balance is (if anything).

Thanks, I have just posted on that thread as well
I have got nothing in the way of bills or meter readings. there were lots of issues with my smart meter since install by ovo 2017 which have only been sorted last year after a couple of months of back and forth with Utilities Warehouse. all the previous bills were stored on tonik's website and didnt think to download them at the time as I believed the matter to be settled once I got the credit back from them a few months after switching0 -
What meter reading did UW use when setting up your account? What meter reading did Tonic use when setting up their account?
Take one from the other and you have an accurate Kwh usage and can work out if you owe anything.0 -
Take a look at this Facebook group. We're all going through the same thing.
