Buying a New Build - Upgrades/Extras

I bought a new build. Showers plus TV and internet points in bedrooms and main rooms came as standard. Anything else was chargeable. As Runningmad says, we got the same answer. As they sold the minute they came out there was no need for fencing, turf or anything else to be given to me. I even had to put drainage in my garden!

So many new builds like this, they are 2-3 years old, bathrooms still looking good and shiny and yet you'd have to rip them apart just to have a shower. Borderline disgusting.
Very cool.
People can be really dramatic on this forum.1 -

I will probably regret saying this, but it’s years since I last had a bath!No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

s. We asked if they could install a personnel door in our garage but they said it was something they didn't offer as an option, so we are looking to do that at some point now we are in.1 -

We don't get in there with them!!0 -
A main bathroom that doesn't include both a bath and a shower is a shonky shortcut.
But, since I presume this was made clear in the sales documentation, it would have been the buyer's choice not to pay for the shower...0 -

We certainly wouldn't rip out the bath in the main bathroom to install a walk in shower cubicle when we already have one in the en suite.
Next door have had a shower fitted over the bath in the main bathroom as they have a daughter who uses that as her own bathroom. It cost them £350 all in to have the shower fitted and some tiling done. It is hardly the end of the world to have the bathroom modified if that is what you want/need.0 -

But it takes zero extra floorspace, and can only be better than no shower at all, right?1 -

Not my cup of tea and I think we would now dismiss a house if that was the only option for a shower.0
