How unusual to own three boundaries is it?

My daughter is buying a terraced house. The solicitor says she is responsible for the wall (drystone) to the right joint responsibility for the party fence down the middle all fine but also (and this is what I don't get) the left hand boundary stone wall that we assumed belonged to next door (and wasn't part of the survey) which we have never seen nor inspected assuming it was next doors. So effectively next door only have the party fence in the middle to maintain.
I was just wondering how unusual this is, doesn't seem right to me.

    We live in a detached new build and one party fence is jointly maintained, then the rear and other side fence is our responsibility.

    We always thought it was odd too, especially since the rear and side fence posts are on our neighbour's land.

  • So imagine you are looking at two terraced houses, apparently she is responsible for both outer walls left (her neighbours) and right plus joint centre fence. 
    Seriously thinking of pulling out.

    They said it's not unusual (bit like Tom Jones 😂)
    I can't believe this though...thing is we have never seen this wall why would we have so we have no idea of it's condition, maybe that's why she selling that it's falling down!!

    It’s not unusual to own 3 boundaries.  It is unusual to own a boundary that is not to your property.  I would suggest that this needs to be checked with solicitor with a marked plan to be sure that what you believe to have been told is correct.
