The keys are in the boot.
I once did this.  Ford assured me it was impossible and would not believe my account of events.  They eventually broke in through the rear light cluster, recovered the key, and then accepted it was possible.

Out of interest, why can't you use the second key?

In my case, the second key was lost a long time previously.

I used to have a mercedes, and locked the keys in the boot.  Noticed as soon as the lights flashed on shutting the boot.  Basically if the rest of the car was locked and you pressed the boot unlock button rather than the button to unlock the car, then everything locks when you close the boot.  My Mazda won't loc if the keys are in the car.

Always worth a search on youtube for your car type and 'keys locked in boot'.

    Also read your handbook.

My vehicle allows me to set a  'PIN' number and press the boot lock button morse code style i.e. PIN 123 press button once, wait, press twice wait, press three times wait and it unlocks.

Your vehicle may have similar and a default code.
