I managed to lock my keys in my car during a very stressful day today!
I have gone online and have seen a lot of emergency locksmiths online - will call out fee on Sunday be astronomical?

The car is in a supermarket car park - should I wait till Monday?
So annoyed at myself! All numbers online are mobiles - don’t want to start phoning people on Saturday night for quotes. Some poor bloke on call gets his evening interrupted!

Have you tried your car breakdown service ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Do you have a garage or mechanic you use and will talk to you on a Saturday night? They may be able to talk to you and explain a few things to try? Are there charges for leaving your car more than 3 hours?1

Talk to the supermarket about why your car will spend a bit of time in the car park otherwise you might get fined.2

as Andy says go back in tomorrow and let the manager know what happened and ask them to keep a record of the conversation so you can appeal should you get fine.
otherwise, i would cover the number plate front and back when leaving so the camera don't pick up and hope they don't watch all the video of the car coming in and out.0 -
I spoke to the supermarket - they are happy and the security guard is keeping an eye.
I don’t have a break down service! Cancelled it when I stopped commuting!Bit is a false economy!2 -
Did you buy the car new? Dealers (at least in my time in the trade) recorded key numbers - have actually had customers ring from afar and we were able to give them the number to get one cut. Wont start the car of course as not coded - but it will get you in.

The keys are in the boot. The windows are electric and shut tight. Don’t want to damage the car (apart fro co the plating breaking the window).comeandgo said:Can you force the window down and get a wire and hook the key?
