Goods not collected by Vodafone

Hi guys
Last year, in October 2020, I upgraded my phone with Vodafone to a pixel 3a. Within a couple of weeks I noticed an annoying issue with this phone which I assumed was a fault and asked Vodafone for a replacement, which they agreed to. They requested that I give the faulty phone to the courier driver when the new phone was delivered. I explained that I couldn't do this as I had to transfer the data from the old phone to the new phone (not an unreasonable statement) so they suggested I speak to the courier driver. The courier driver delivered a day or two later and asked for the faulty phone. I explained that I had to transfer the data and he stated that he would return the next day to collect the faulty phone. He never did, and since then (8 or 9 months later) I have heard nothing from Vodafone and the phone is still sitting here.
My question is: when goods have failed to be collected, is there a time after which the goods legally become mine? 6 months is in the back of my mind. Can anyway confirm or otherwise?
Thanks
Doug

6 years, so keep it safe.
Easier to chase them up and sort it one way or another.

6 Years?! Ye gods, I was hoping to sell it! That's that idea out the window0

But it’s faulty?dg26 said:6 Years?! Ye gods, I was hoping to sell it! That's that idea out the window0 -
As I understand it, if you chose to sell it anyway, they have up to six years to pursue you for the value of the phone. I'd contact them to say you still have it. You never know, they may confirm you can keep it.dg26 said:6 Years?! Ye gods, I was hoping to sell it! That's that idea out the window
Remember, if you do sell it, make sure you describe the fault. Otherwise there's a chance we'll be helping the buyer with his or her thread on here: I bought a phone that's faulty from a bloke called Doug, how do I take him to court to get my money back?1 -
No, it's not faulty. That's why I said "which I assumed was a fault". The replacement phone had the same "feature". It's just a rubbish phone, the worst one I've had.0
