Plusnet offering to waive fees but only if transferring to EE / BT Fiber to the home

Hey All
I'm looking for advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation, or can help with my contract rights.....
We're on a plusnet contract with circa 1 year left, the speeds have been poor and are on the cusp on the minimum promised line speeds. We're also getting problems with disconnections & are having to do frequent router restarts.
I've spoken with Plusnet today and they are offering to move us to BT / EE Fibre to the premises with no contract termination charges. I asked about moving to another provider but was told only a transfer to BT will allow the waiving of charges.
The issue i've got is EE's FTTP deals are quite pricey already and they're not really willing to match any other deals. I'd prefer to move to a provider of my choice.
Has anyone had any success with getting out of a Plusnet contract in similar circumstances? Are they even allowed to transfer me to BT / EE like that? I'd have thought that transferring me to a different company (even if they're owned by the same company BT) is them admitting that their service isn't what was promised at outset of contract, so therefor I should be able to leave to any provider I wish?
Thanks

Problems then you have to go through the relevant steps PN require .Dispute usually eight weeks allowed .have PN sent an engineer out yet ??What PN are saying is you probably have a bad line .In which case moving will solve nothing .FTTP is a completely new optical cabling with speeds up to 900 meg and should not give problems .Why would they not be allowed to let you move to BT .have you priced up BT FTTP 80/20 service .0

Hi
I’ve priced up the 80/20 service which is likely the one we’ll go for. It’s similar money as what we’re on now.Plusnet will let us move to EE without charges, but they’re not willing to let me move to any other provider and waive the termination charges of a years contract still to pay.If we have a bad line, is this enough to ask to leave the contract early without contract fees?Thanks0 -
Have you checked FTTP prices for other suppliers as BT tend to be the cheapest in most cases.0

Plusnet , EE and BT are all part of BT Group, so PN offering a penalty free move to other ‘group’ company’s keeps your business ( chances are if PN had a FTTP offering they wouldn’t offer BT or EE , but simply upgrade you under the PN brand ) but they are not going to help facilitate a move to anyone else , why would they ?…if you think your ‘poor service’ from PN is such that you should be released from any contractual obligation ( minimum term not served so early termination charges ) you could ask what the criteria is , but they are allowed time to ‘fix’ any issues before they have to release you from ‘contract’.As far as offering an upgrade to FTTP being a tacit acceptance that the current service is poor, that doesn’t necessarily follow, in many areas if FTTP is available they won’t sell ‘new’ FTTC or ADSL, moving customers onto FTTP is a desirable thing in its own right and could be offered to FTTC customers getting perfect service , as it suits the operator to get people off copper if they can0

OP as said you need to find out what PN rules are for cancelling contract penalty free .Choice then will be move ISP on the same line . with a risk of losing slot in local cabinet .0

OP... I take it that with circa 1 year left on your PN contract you are either on a 18 or 24 month contract.
When did your speed issue 1st begin, also when did your disconnect issue 1st begin? What steps have been taken so far to resolve the 2 issues?0
