I have it, and it’s paid out for anything you spend. No minimum.

Does the Reward card have a minimum yearly spend before cashback is paid, like Amex.
Or is it paid out for any amount of spending?
No there is no minimum yearly spend like Amex you get 0.25% on everything you buy except for:

You won’t earn cashback on balance transfers, money transfers, cash withdrawals, buying currency or traveller’s cheques, or any cash-like transactions you make such as money orders or wire transfers. It also doesn’t include gaming-related transactions such as gambling, betting and buying lottery tickets.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

    Hi All

Done it.  My platinum credit card has been upgraded to Rewards - tried on a whim on the App this morning - so I'll wait to see if it appears but why after days trying it has happed today - who knows.  Maybe the complaint was acted on, maybe the App wasn't working but I will stop moaning and just be thankful.  Thank you all  - your posts encouraged me to try again.

From the way you said you'd handled your account I did find it surprising they wouldn't upgrade - but seems like it might have been a glitch - and you've now got one on the way. In my case terms and conditions (credit limits APR's) stayed the same. So far this year I've earned £16 which isn't a lot - but having not paid them any interest - I'm £16 up :)

Just had an email about this. Are these "rewards" in addition to the cashback I get an an ex-Egg Barclaycard holder or a replacement to it?

In short - as an existing Barclaycard holder you can't have one.
Having failed to upgrade my Barclaycard through the App - told the card was frozen and I was not able to access Live Chat for reasons no one could tell me, I rang and spent three hours being passed from person to person, getting cut off, told to use the App and eventually that someone from live chat would contact me by the end of the day.  They did - set me a "no reply" text saying use the App!  By 8pm there was an online "server" error" on all Barclay log ins. So today, feeling slightly calmer, I tried the App again with the same result. So I rang again this afternoon and spoke to an extremely helpful customer service guy who spend over half an hour trying to find out why I couldn't get a Barclay reward card eventually being told that there was "no offer" on my existing cards and if I cancelled them I would have to wait six months to apply for another one!  He then chased up the "live chat" issue and, true to his word, rang me back after another fifteen minutes to say that the "live chat" was down.
I have been a loyal Barclay's customer for 50 years but I am seriously looking to change (if it wasn't such an upheaval).  I will certainly remove the App from my phone and use a Halifax Clarity card instead.
I had a Barclaycard forward credit card and a few months ago it let me change to a Barclaycard Reward via the app. It was very straightforward so I'm assuming it's mabey something to do with newer products, rather than legacy ones.

I wouldn't say it's an amazing card, although it's free to use abroad mastercard usually has a more generous exchange rate than Visa, and you could well be saving 0.25% just by using a mastercard.

Also the Amex platinum everyday or Natwest reward for supermarket spend are alot better and have higher cashback rates.

I have a Barclaycard Forward card. I've had it since January and always paid it off in full when statement has generated. Is it too early for me to upgrade to the Rewards card? Should I wait until one year as past and try? Do Barclaycard do internal checks as well as credit agency checks?

From my own experience and understanding you need a minimum of a year on your forward card - and to have kept your account in impeccable order to be able to move over to rewards. When you do - your interest rate and credit limit will remain the same. On each forward anniversary your interest rate will drop slightly if your account has been maintained properly.

    It's a different product.

You will have the Barclaycard Cashback credit card presumably, which earns 0.5% cashback.

This is the Barclaycard Rewards credit card, which earns half that.

Your card can't simultaneously be both and unless you do a lot of spending overseas I can't see a good reason to transition!

I think Doshwaster is referring to the new Barclaycard Cashback Rewards scheme, not to a special card.  I've also had an email and I've started a new thread about it.
