What do you pay for your single rate electricity in 2021?

Hi All, My current fixed rate tariff (electricity only) will be ending soon. I've been paying 14.60 pence per kWh. Am rather shocked to find that electricity unit rates have jumped to approx 21 pence per kWh. (Octopus 24M Fixed 2021 and Co-op Community Power 12M Fixed 2021). Have I entered the Twilight Zone or what? What do you other Forumites pay for your single rate electricity? And which energy company supply your electricity? Many thanks in advance.

    Consult a comparison site.
It will list you all the tariff details there of tariffs currently available to new applicants.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, it is pointless just looking at one element of a tariff make up. You need to look at the overall cost to you. That is what a comparison site will do for you.

If you follow my advice, you will almost certainly find Symbio Energy at, or very close to, the top of the list of cheapest electricity suppliers.
But before deciding upon them, I would urge you to (a) do a search on this forum for 'Symbio' and (b) not fail to read the Symbio feedback thread

The cheapest supplier may not be the best supplier for you.

    @Mystic_CT You're not looking very hard - \I can beat your existing 14.6   (and 17.5 p/day)

    Try the" whole of market"
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

I should've made it clear I would like to stay with OE. It's OE who gave me these single electricity rates of 21 pence per kWh once my tariff ends. DSC @ 25.169 pence per day.

Just read on powercompare.co.uk that OE single Rate electricity in my region is 13.76 per kWh. DSC of 21 pence per day.

Get a smart meter (if you don’t have one already) and switch to Octopus Go or Go Faster. Go gives you energy at 5p/kWh for 4 hours: Go Faster has rates averaging 5p/kWh with different start periods and off peak hours.

PS Octopus is pushing their Price Promise tariff which is a 2 year tariff where the unit price will rise/fall with the Ofgem cap.

You can restrict your search on comparison sites to "existing supplier"

    Cor that's cheap!

Unfortunately, the site you looked at does not sell electricity, and is not an Ofgem accredited comparison site for energy. So'I'd take whatever they suggest with a large pinch of salt.

A list of Ofgem accredited comparison sites can be found here:
    https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/information-consumers/energy-advice-households/switching-energy-tariff-or-supplier

The current list is as follows:
The cheapest Octopus Energy tariff I could find for an average consumption of electricity (ignoring any specialist smart meter only tariffs) based on the West Midlands supply region was 18.722p per kWh and 25.08p per day. (
    Flexible Octopus)

What supply region are you in?
Maybe I need to invest in a very long extention lead?

Price Promise Tariff  Electricity Unit rate: 17.91 p/kWh Standing charge: 23.99 p/day
Gas Unit rate: 3.17 p/kWh Standing charge: 25.43 p/day for completeness
However Price Promise Tariff will rise automatically in October if as expected price cap increases whereas Octopus often delay price increases for existing customers who are on flexible Octopus Tariff

The PP tariff is a variable tariff in all but name. The cheapest Octopus fixed price tariff for gas for my region comes in at 3.7p/kWh. I have gone for Zog as it is a similar deal as the PP tariff but fixed.
