Virgin Money Cards Eligibility

Interesting I find via mse credit club, Virgin Money Cards are currently 100% approved/eligible.
Whilst I've had 100% luck with these type of checkers, I rechecked via VM website with sorry not likely to be Approved for their Cards.
Whist my Credit report remains unaffected , is it safe to assume Virgin site is correct and mse club wrong.

tiaI was looking for a new zero percent spending card (I like to have one for emergencies, such as paying a vet bill whilst awaiting the insurance to pay out etc) earlier this week.On MSE's eligibility check, I was ranked 50% for a Virgin Money 'All Round' Card', but 100% and 'approved' doing the check on the Virgin Money website. So, I applied on the Virgin Money website and have been accepted with a £6k limt (which is about average across my five cards) with the full 19 months interest free spending. So, I would surmise from my experience that the Virgin Money's (or any bank's own) eligibility checker is more accurate than MSE's generic one, or any generic one for that matter.2 -
Yup, MSE don't know Virgin Money's acceptance criteria, they're just guessing based on the information they have on you.
Virgin Money's eligibility checker will be more inline with what their actual requirements are.2 -
MSE get a referral fee hence why they'd push you to apply
When Virgin took one look at your inability to control your credit applications, they inevitably said no2 -
It's probably because VM know that you've already got 74 credit cards and a history of less-than-perfect self-restraint when it comes to using credit.

What’s your end goal? At what point will you say ‘I’ve got enough cards now’.Have you closed any credit cards as new ones have opened ? Or are you retaining them all?If you want your existing cards to increase In limit or improve in apr, you’re going to have to use them responsibly. That’s a much more focused approach than the scatter gun ‘let’s apply for everything’ approach surely?4

The previous thread about the Newday card was deleted and I got a snotty message from MSE saying with regards to my post on the thread, was not polite, despite me simply saying I'm here to simply see what people post on this thread.I would suggest you take the one on Virgin Money's website as the true indication of what the chance of being accepted is, as they will have modeled the checker to suit the type of customer they are looking for.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:2

I previously got ppr’d for suggesting that Dandytf is a troll… that they post things like this on the credit card board knowing full well long term users know exactly what Dandytf’s situation is (seemingly a pathological need to be accepted for credit), and the consequent reactions of everyone else.
Don’t care if I get ppr’d again for suggesting we simply ignore and move on.2 -
thanks for sensible reply's, my latest post I haven't applied though when VM's own site recommend I try Cap 1 , I understood VM would be rejected, which is fine for time being.
Certain I could re visit VM in a few months or years.
Funny comment on past post being deleted, is that when I stated my utilisation was and still is 5-7% from 18.5k of this years Cards.

I'd completely support you all ignoring and moving on - it's futile because they refuse to take the advice we all keep giving him. That would actually involve you moving on though, not repeatedly coming back to inform everyone that you're allegedly moving on!
I deal with people incapable of following simple concepts on how to look after themselves better on a daily basis - often far more extreme than Dandy (I work in A&E). I can assure you all that berating, belittling and making snide remarks never, ever results in them "coming to their senses". I'd encourage you to stop and think about how you'd feel being on the receiving end of this over something you can't control (though I acknowledge that it's far, far less vicious here now than it traditionally has been).0
