Possible fraud letter

I received a letter from a company called empira about an unpaid parking fine from 2018 which ended up being £270. I have never acknowledged the letters and haven’t received anything since January 2019. When going onto the website provided on the letter by the company it says that the website does not exist and could be potential fraud of personal and financial information. Now I’m not sure what to do whether the company exists or whether it may be a scam

    Hello and welcome.

Here is another very recent thread about Empira.

    Empira Notice Of Enforcement

There may well be something useful in there.

    Which parking firm?

OK so it depends what the letter says but if it's talking about over £200 for one PCN then it sounds like you've moved and got a CCJ.  You said this:

I have never acknowledged the letters and haven’t received anything since January 2019.
Sounds like you've moved and didn't tell PCM, I guess, and they've gone to court behind your back and got a default CCJ...is that what the letter says, a county court judgment?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

There seems to be something wrong with your device.

For me, when looking at www.empira.co.uk I see a perfectly reasonable website. (I make no comment on what they do)

On the face of it they seem to be a legitimate company:
Registered Address: Unit 2, 210 Cygnet Court, Centre Park, Warrington, WA1 1PP.
    Company Number 13256532

However, they were only incorporated in March this year.

You need to treat this seriously.

    But wait...
Regular posters here may have recognised the address above and will certainly be interested to see the name of the only director of Empira Ltd.

Have you checked all of your credit files lately? If there is a CCJ in place linked to you, you're going to find it challenging to obtain future credit while it's still there. And if they're not paid off within 30 days of judgment - they'll been on your file for a few years. Burying your head in the sand and ignoring everything you received has led you to where you are - and now you need to get yourself back on track and sort it all out. Have a look at Credit Karma, Clearscore and MSE Credit club for your free reports.

£270 appears to be excessive and may well include unlawful amounts, read this and complain to your MP.

    Excel v Wilkinson

At the Bradford County Court, District Judge Claire Jackson (now HHJ Jackson, a Specialist Civil Circuit Judge) decided to hear a 'test case' a few months ago, where £60 had been added to a parking charge despite Judges up and down the country repeatedly disallowing that sum and warning parking firms not to waste court time with such spurious claims.   That case was Excel v Wilkinson: G4QZ465V, heard in July 2020 and leave to appeal was refused and that route was not pursued.  The Judge concluded that such claims are proceedings with 'an improper collateral purpose'.   This Judge - and others who have since copied her words and struck dozens of cases out in late 2020 and into 2021 - went into significant detail and concluded that parking operators (such as this Claimant) are seeking to circumvent CPR 27.14 as well as breaching the Consumer Rights Act 2015.   DJ Hickinbottom has recently struck more cases out in that court area, stating: ''I find that striking out this claim is the only appropriate manner in which the disapproval of the court can be shown''.
