Currency exchange to small bills?

I've booked an all-inclusive holiday so I'm anticipating only needing cash for tips. Does anyone know if/where I can request small dollar bills ($1s, $5s) for when I exchange my currency? Thanks in advance 🙂

You can request anywhere, but if unsuccessful you should find that if you ask any of the people who receive such tips they are likely to be happy to change them up to a larger bill from you.

Where are you going that us$1 are appropriate tips?

Assuming its not the USA then foreign currency can be difficult for some to deal with (though there are countries where they're preferred to local currency). Clearly few will say no to free money but most can be lost through currency conversion for them and so the tips really line the pockets of the unofficial exchanges rather than the person you give the cash to.

You can ask for small notes at any exchange but they are normally limited as to who many they'll actually give.
