Withdrawing cash in bags of coins

I am finding that increasingly local branches of banks and building societies I have accounts with are referring customers to their ATM for paying money in or withdawring (I suspect reductions in staff at branches may be planned). I have a weekly stall at ourt local Town Hall so regular adequate change in coins is essential. Does anyone recommend where they go if they need bags of coins? I am visitng local Post Office in coming week to see their policy. Thanks for reading this, David

Have you considered Sum Up or similar and go Contactless ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1

If you have a business account then I see no reason why they'd direct you to an ATM, although there may be a charge for depositing/withdrawing large quantities of coins.1

Thanks for your reply. Are personal accounts I hold. My profit margins are very small In ast I have withdrawn say 3 bags at a time eg £1 20p 2pDavid0

Be careful running a business from a personal account.
It is generally not permitted and your account could be suspended/closed with little notice.
If you want change are you a regular in a pub or restaurant? They are often willing to get rid of change.

Turnover is 20k on a weekly stall?
I agree that it might be worth looking at a contactless provider. I use Zettle by PayPal, there is no monthly cost, just a small fee per transaction.
Otherwise speak to your own bank about their policy for coins.
There might be small business nearby that would be happy to exchange coins for notes.0 -
Thanks for these suggestions. I will seek Zettle too as not heard of that either. Have raised foral queries middle of the week with Nationwide and HSBC & await responses

Its Sum Up . I think you need to look at Contactless again - I use Sum Up and there's no minimum turnover, buy the unit - just a %davidgh said:Thanks Robin very low turnover means I cannot sign up for contacless. If you regularly ask the bank for coins, they may assume that you're running a business and either close your personal accounts or insist on opening a business account.
Trading coins for notes with another business is the best way forward, otherwise you'll have to buy a small item at the supermarket and pay at the self-service till with a large note.0
