These are not 'fines'. Who are 'they'?
The vehicle control agency as they call themselves.
    Please try again.

What is the exact full name of the company listed as the Defendant on your County Court Claim Form?
I am the defendant as they are making the claim. The claimant is
    Vehicle Control Services Limited.
Oops, sorry, my mistake. Of course you are the Defendant.

...a claim form has come through. I have sent the acknowledgment and now working through the defence.

What is the Issue Date on your County Court Claim Form?

Upon what date did you file an Acknowledgment of Service?
Your MCOL Claim History will have the definitive answer to that.
    The issue date is 06/07/2021

With a Claim Issue Date of 6th July, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 9th August 2021 to file your Defence.
That's over three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

    Hi Keith,

I have had a look at that and the template which I will use.

What about brining an additional witness statement how does that work? and on what grounds would I be appealing for more specifically?

Correct me if I am wrong but the template covers a variety of things which I am assuming is so we can copy and cut as needed. I am just a bit confused as to where my actual argument lies.

The template isn’t there to be cut.

Everything in It is relevant to any (non ParkingEye) case and you merely add your facts about the car park and event - brief line or two about why the Defendant parked and what was unfair about the trap you fell into - and admit to driving or not (depending on what’s true and if the PPC issued a POFA notice to keeper).

Witness statements come later, as the NEWBIES thread explains under the red heading.

You are not appealing.  You are defending the specific allegations in the Particulars of Claim.  Did VCS file this claim themselves or via a solicitor?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi Guys, I have written my defence template via the newbie post. However, for some reason it is not allowing me to send it online (keeps saying error). I did see somewhere that it is recommended to send it via post is that still the case?

Attach it to your email as a pdf attachment and use the ccbcaq @ justice email address , should be no problem , or print , sign and post with a free certificate of posting from the post office counter ( not signed for , not special delivery either )

Nobody else seems to have troubles emailing it to the CCBC

Ideally you should post the few altered paragraphs below for approval prior to emailing it from a Hotmail or Gmail account

I hope you don't mean you are trying to use MCOL to send it.  You should not type anything in that box but use the e-mail address as per the defence template, NEWBIE sticky or as advised by @Redx above.

And didn't you read in my post on this thread on 17 July at 10:40PM that you should file your Defence by email?
