S20fe screen brightness

I've got a 2week old s20 fe and everything is good until I go outside and its unusable, you can't see the screen as it goes so dark.ive tried adaptive brightness on and off and either way when I restart the handset once ots reboots its nice and bright when outside but then after 5secs it's goes very difficult to see then 5secs later you can't see even to type on Google, 
Also its not on power saving mode either
very frustrating  and would appreciate any help, btw if it helps its the snapdragon version

I have mine set as follows if any help, adaptive brightness on and manually set the level bar to max, it's when you pull down from the top of the phone (also maybe check that no other apps are overriding display settings).
