This one was easy - PLAN A Strikes again.

ALWAYS COMPLAIN TO THE RETAIL MANAGER FIRST, BEFORE EVEN APPEALING::

While I have the Motoring Board regulars' attention,

CALL TO ACTION TO ALL READERS OF THIS THREAD ABOUT THE UPCOMING STATUTORY REGULATION OF THE PRIVATE PARKING INDUSTRY:

What we want you and everyone to do, is check the parking sub-board in August for when the Government’s final Consultation gets released.  It will come out 'this Summer', so very soon, but only for 4 weeks.

As said on every thread right now, we need motorists to have your say about Government policy re the level of parking charges to be applied next year onwards.  We've already made a difference in 2020 by achieving an initial published MHCLG intention that the lower level will be £50 (early discount £25) outside of London.

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6252788/victory-for-motorists-mhclg-caps-parking-charges-at-50-80-in-london-with-mandatory-50-discount/p1

    NB:
The new policy will become law and will also apply in Scotland (and Scotland is to be inflicted with 'keeper liability').

So this is a call to action to ALL posters who drive, whether you have suffered the misery of a private parking charge or not.  Most people have, as the industry and their tiny signage and massive 'fine' regime is so embedded around the UK..

I reckon it's important that those of you on the motoring board know about the Consultation and if you are interested to securing the £50 as policy instead of the current rip-off £100, then come to the parking board once the final MHCLG Consultation opens and take part, please.

Like last time, it's vital that the real victims, the motoring public, drown out the copy & paste responses from PPCs and 'landowners' (who may or may not actually be parking firms, wolves in sheep's clothing). They like to try to make everyone think that a deterrent is all about the size of the penalty.  Studies show that's simply not true, but they've threatened the Government with a Judicial Review, and will not take this lying down.

So real motorists' voices must be heard and take precedence.

    Date TBA, but soon.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
