Colleague does little work

My colleague does little work. Either on her phone or looking for people to chat with.
If she doesn’t do her assigned work, it builds up for me and the rest of the team.
Ive resigned myself to just doing my
own work and let management deal with our workloads.

I have only been in employment for four years (I was self employed) so I’m not used to office environments.
I’m so tempted to say something to her or management. I know I should keep my cool.
Just frustrating as it’s clear from our call logs and assigned tasks she’s not pulling her weight. Plus we sit in the office and it’s visible.
Whiny post I guess. Any thoughts. It’s been giving me annoyance all week.

Won't be going unnoticed by management. Frustrating as it may seem. The matter will be dealt with.0

Eventually it comes out. For all the turning away, someone in management might do, When customers don't get the expected service, they may resort to say something.
Times last summer were quite hard but by winter it had come out in the wash but I'm honestly not sure it got any better.
Do a different job now.. This week I've been really busy in getting 15 more appointments booked then what I would normally in a week, however, the extra appointments have also been less productive. It's been bit of a head spin really thinking well I've had my best week.
Well, no actually!0 -
Obviously it depends on your management but my advice would be to bite your tongue, people hang themselves in the end. If you're career focused then consider it a chance to build a portfolio of work experience and exposure.
In a competitive world, consider people dragging themselves down as opposed to you having to pull yourself up a gift horse....
I'd be surprised if it doesn't get noticed. Don't forget to take the odd holiday.1 -
Patience and no confrontation. Make sure that you're doing a fantastic job and the difference (between you and her) should be apparent to management, though it might take time.1

Unfortunately the situation is likely already apparent to management, however for some reason her face fits and she'll get get away with this.1

one time everyone on the team was having a conversation between themselves and I was taking call, after call, after call. We take incoming calls but not a call centre.0 -

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
