Perhaps the management have more important and pressing matters on the agenda given the events of the past year or so. Rather than expending considerable time on one individual. Focus is on bigger changes that lie ahead.Savesmartsunday said:
It has been going on for many months and yes they are part of the problem. They will also talk and ignore calls. It’s getting frustrating.Thrugelmir said:Won't be going unnoticed by management. Frustrating as it may seem. The matter will be dealt with.0 -

Welcome to the real world! Most people who have worked for themselves experience a similar feeling of disbelief when seeing what goes on where people are 'employed'...Savesmartsunday said:
Yes. It just took me by surprise that people aren’t as hard working as I amelsien said:
In thar situation, a polite query to the rest of the team to help with the calls?Savesmartsunday said:
I don’t think it will.Thrugelmir said:Won't be going unnoticed by management. Frustrating as it may seem. The matter will be dealt with.
one time everyone on the team was having a conversation between themselves and I was taking call, after call, after call. We take incoming calls but not a call centre.I tend more towards “I hate to interrupt your social lifes, but am I the only one doing any work today? ” Obviously that’s not going to work in all environments but nothing wrong with saying something as long as you are polite.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!3 -
That’s the worst logic ever.Thrugelmir said:

Frustrating as it may seem. The matter will be dealt with.Firstly, corona has been an issue for 16 months and our company hasn’t been affected.Secondly, having an employer do 10% of work throughout the working day, is an issue. It’s putting extra stress on management because KPIs aren’t been meet and also other staff aren’t working0 -

I've worked places where some people get away with murder because they get on with the manager. There was actually a situation where one person left and during their leaving speech the manager said something along the lines of "We all know how much x loves their phone - they were never off it!" Many had complained, the manager knew and did absolutely nothing. All the OP can do, is complete their own work, possibly slowing their own work rate if they know they are having this person's work dumped on them. Any problems with a backlog will eventually fall on the shoulders of the manager who is not doing their job.1
