Great MSE Deal - BEWARE of Auto Renewal with Lebara Mobile
Beware – I purchased a Lebara Mobile deal which was £2.99/month for the first three months, then £5.99/month offer via an MSE deal however my bank changed from using Visa Debit to Mastercard Debit and as I haven’t updated the card details, I received an auto renew fail notification. This arrived at 10.30pm and too late to contact the Labara customer service team (9am to 9pm) however I did update my new card details. To switch back on your auto renew you need to purchase a new package (the MSE wasn’t an option) so I contacted Lebara directly to be advised that I had lost my MSE offer and would need to purchase a new package – very unfair considering I had no notice to influence this. The best offer was £5 for 30 days, 2 GB of data and 1000 minutes/text, not as good as my previous MSE offer.
I enquired about purchasing a new deal via the MSE site and port across my number but was advised that I would lose the MSE deal upon porting, again unfair.
In summary – beware that if your bank card details change i.e. expire or you receive a new card you need to amend your card details before the auto renew is due. I have purchased another 30 day package however I will be changing before the end of this period.
Has anyone experienced this? One to beware aware of!!

You knew you had a new card number/replacement.
You knew the card it was replacing was used on Lebara (and maybe elsewhere).
You failed to update details in good time (as soon as the new card arrived)?
Definitely Lebara's fault then.
Option 1
Port your number away to another provider's (free) PAYG sim and then buy a new Lebara MSE special sim and port it back?
Option 2
Go to Talkmobile on a similar MSE offer price for 4GB and unlimited and port to there (if Vodafone network is wanted).
Option 3 check out other offers:

Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!1
