Aha. Turning off uBlock Origin makes no difference but disabling Ghostery allows the login boxes to appear for me.

    Hi
Ghostery Dawn is mentioned in the 'Named and Shamed' of ComputerActive mag; Issue 610 page 21.

Best avoided IMHO, Ghostery Dawn not ComputerActive that is.

    Two points:
    1) Ghostery is a browser extension (to Firefox in my case, which I've used for years without problems); Ghostery Dawn classifies itself as a "secure browser" (of which I've never before heard, nor used)
    2) when I try to load https://www.boots.co.uk absolutely nothing happens (perhaps surprisingly?); the correct website is https://www.boots.com, which loads quite happily for me
(And, personally, I would avoid ComputerActive, but that's another matter...)

    OFF TOPIC somewhat....
""(And, personally, I would avoid ComputerActive, but that's another matter...)""

You can read it in Asda (good moneysaving tip there), and get 6 issues and a powerbank for £6.
So I subscibe every coupla years, cancelling after 2 issues, and yes one of those issues is it's pretty poor as a computer mag, just printing what El Reg reported weeks before.

  • Just to update, the issue I was experiencing has been with the Boots Tech Team since 23rd July. I have just made a new Boots account using the Edge browser and a gmail email address and I can log in and log out. I don't know why it works but it does.
  • Boots have got back to me saying it's because I'm logged in on my phone and the web and there's nothing they can do. I'm not actually logged in anywhere. Bit of a disappointing response from Boots.
