Not much of a help I know, but I've never managed to get rid of it on my E900 either.

The sent message tone really bugs me (though not as much as the clanging 'exit silent mode' tone  ). I did, however, manage to somehow lose the message sent tone for a few weeks for no known reason and I actually really missed it as I was never sure whether texts had been sent or not. It reappeared eventually, but I'm not sure if it was something I did or just a strange blip!
