End of Short Assured Tenancy - What to do next?

I am about to let out my flat for the second time (first tenant was great but has decided to get back together again with her husband). The next let will be on a short assured tenancy again for 6 months, once this ends what is the best option for continuing with the same tenant. IS it better to move onto a periodic month to month arrangement or to start a brand new short assured tenancy.I will be managing the letting myself and not using an agent. Many thanks for any help.

Comments

  • depends whether you prefer the security of knowing you will definitely be getting rent for a 6+month period or prefer the flexibility of regaining possession with only 2 month notice.

If you don't really know or have no preference why not just offer the tenant the choice?
