I tried to make a new Claim today and have been told I can't use my previous account for my old claim, I must start a new account with a new Email, please this can't be true, I rang them three times talking to 3 different rude people all telling me I needed a new Email to start a new account to make a new claim as my previous Email or Universal Credit account can't be used, this is the third Email address I've had to create because this is the third time I've had to claim.
Please tell me this can't be true I know universal credit is a joke but really to have to create a new Email for every new claim is beyond a joke.

Try https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/contact-us/contact-us/help-to-claim/
They may be able to tell you if the UC call-handlers are correct, and possibly help you with the claim.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.1 -
Thank for your reply, It probably will be quicker for me to just setup a new email this time but the irony of so much of UC, there just determined to make everything hard for people and the advisers are terrible with manners, total joke!

Why don't you try re-opening your previous claim, as the only reason you wouldn't be able to use the same email address, is if the claim is still on the system, as it would throw up that the email was already in use.

Since the beginning of the Pandemic I have opened 3, for myself, my brother and my 91 year old mother, lot easier than phoning people that are working from home. I have about 4 pages of email addresses, UTR numbers, Government Gateway numbers, NI Numbers and passwords 😳1 -
I didn't have to do this, so it definitely doesn't sound correct to me. My last claim closed early Sept 2019, I was able to use my old account to start a new claim. Only issue was that my work coach had answers to questions from September 2018 (the original claim) which I hadn't been given an opportunity to change, but once we worked that out he rewrote the answers for me.2

If I try to open the account it asks for a pin and to contact UC so I did and have been told I must setup a new account with a new email to make a new claim, I rang three times spoke to three different very blunt people.
I have been told this in the past but never followed it up but this is getting beyond a joke, having had to make 3 claims over several years I have had to setup three new emails, it's just not on to keep doing this.
You would think it would be beneficial for them to keep track of your account and reset it when a new claim is needed, not to then setup a new account.0 -
Do you mean your PSN (personal security number)? If so just ask the service centre to request a new PSN for you.0
