That fact is overlooked by some people.TheProfessionalTraveller said:I think there is an interesting bit of wording to be mindful of in the guidelines. It says that the exemption from quarantine is only for travellers who have had an NHS vaccine.
As said above just because a country is on the amber, or indeed green list it doesn't mean that they are letting visitors from the UK in.
Quite a bit of double checking needed.
Another forum I am on has some French people who are complaining tha they are being prevented from visiting family because of the 'amber plus' rule.
They don't seem to appreciate that even if France wa on the amber or green list they would still need to self isolate as they have not been vaccinated with an NHS vaccine.0 -
Could there be a difference between the NHS vaccine and a vaccine administered by the NHS? I'm probably just being pedantic but the vaccine used by the NHS is also used in some other countries.

I'm not sure how this is going to work on a wider basis, day to day, once travel in and out of the UK is freer than it is now, if vaccine passports are needed here or abroad, for both us visiting them, and them visiting us.
Will an NHS covid pass be acceptable in a café in Italy???
Will a UK nightclub accept a vaccine pass from a non NHS provider??How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)0 -

Fully UK vaccinated and people under the age of 18 - amber rules
You do not need to quarantine or take a day 8 test after you arrive in England if you are either:
- fully vaccinated in the UK or under the UK vaccine programme overseas
- under 18 on the day you arrive in England and resident in the UK or in a country with a vaccination programme approved by the UK
- part of a UK-approved vaccine trial
You must have had your final dose of the vaccine at least 14 whole days before the date you arrive in England.

At the moment there just seem to be announcements/leaks deliberate or otherwise. I think it's potentially nightclubs and students from September and large football grounds from October. That's 'vaccine passports' in this country. Also US and EU certification is possibly going to be a accepted for travellers coming in as early as next week.Sea_Shell said:I'm not sure how this is going to work on a wider basis, day to day, once travel in and out of the UK is freer than it is now, if vaccine passports are needed here or abroad, for both us visiting them, and them visiting us.
