You have bought, or you are buying?

Lifting old carpet is trivially easy, if the old is so bad as to be actively offensive.
They can be taken to any tip or, if you're having new carpet, then the fitters will remove it for very little money.

You can ask and they can say no. I doubt they want them. If you don't why should they clear them for you?

I’d say that’s a fairly unusual request and it depends on the circumstances of the sellers but it’s quite an ask if they’re also trying to pack and clean.
I’d not personally be offended if asked (assuming they are old carpets) but would also say no as I’d assume you’re not going to pull out based on my answer and it would be a lot of work for no personal gain.

If it is already yours, then no you can't ask Joe blogs to come in and remove.  We'll you could ask but I know the answer...

If you have had an offer accepted, then just ask. I wouldn't as a seller, but some people might.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

You can ask, but I think it would be considered a rather odd request. Replacing the floorcoverings is normally something for you to sort out after you move in.

Also it's a big ask if you end up exchanging and completing the same day as they won't want to start this destruction until they know its sold. Which is the very same time as you'll be wanting the keys!

I’m another one who would say no.  You buy the house along with certain things, flooring being one of it.

I assume you haven’t bought yet, but are sale agreed.

I would have been really irritated if my buyer had asked me to remove the carpets for them, and to be honest I would have said no.  Ripping up and disposing of carpets while packing up a house would be really annoying.  I would expect the new owners to do this if they want new carpets.
