Hi Neil, can I ask how your situation ended? I’m in a similar situation. I understand I entered into a contract but I find it unfair to have to pay an ETF when I’m moving abroad. Thanks, Dina0

It wasn't my situation. But the rest of the thread remains valid. Most early termination "complaints" on here receive the same answer - that being its not the fault of the provider that you are moving somewhere (in this country or otherwise) they don't supply. If they moved you to France then yes you would. But they're not, so you don't.2

This sounds like someone on support trying to make commission. I'd want to see that in writing, preferably from their legal department.leire said:I'm considering passing it onto a helping friend (who's not interested in switching to a different company) and then my friend can cancel it during the 14 day cooling off period so that he doesn't get charged ever but neither do I? Would this make sense? The company in question is EE.
When my sister moved in with her now husband and they were both tied into BT contracts at each of their own houses, my sister moved the contract to my parents house.
However she remained named on the contract and pays the bill, my parents give her cash. The original plan was to switch it back into their name at the end of the contract, but because BT managed to lose my parents phone number for a couple of days, my dad is now refusing to let anything be changed.
I recently signed up for the vodafone 2 year fibre deal that was on the weekly email (available until midnight tonight) and was considering whether I might want to move within the next 24 months (considerably better deals in the next 24 months seem unlikely).
I don't currently have plans and I figured that it was worth the risk and that if I had to buy out of the contract, then I would consider that a moving expense. I would of course chance my luck trying to negotiate it down.
